Optimizing the Practical Course System under the Model of Modern Ecological Industry College—Take the Wetlands School, Yancheng Teachers University, a Key Industrial College in Jiangsu Province, as an Example

Abstract: The College of Ecological Industries is committed to nurturing talents with comprehensive ecological application skills, positioning itself as a base for cultivating the nation's ecological civilization pioneers. Practical courses occupy a pivotal role in the talent cultivation model of the institute. Initially, the Wetland College at Yancheng Teachers University, a key industrial college in Jiangsu Province, lacked a well-rounded practical curriculum system focused on wetland ecological resources, failing to meet the demands for cultivating high-quality ecological civilization talents in terms of knowledge and skills. To deeply implement the ideals of ecological civilization in the new era, the Wetland College has embarked on multiple initiatives: forming practical curriculum clusters by leveraging professional groups, optimizing the practical curriculum system based on regional ecological-economic coordinated development, establishing practice bases through various channels, optimizing the diverse structure of the practical teaching faculty from both inside and outside the campus, and pioneering an innovative“government-industry-academia-research-application”model for practical curriculum, efforts are being made to refine the practical curriculum system of the College of Ecological Industries. These endeavors aim to ensure the cultivation of high-quality builders, researchers, and managers for ecological civilization.
