Abstract: The field of architectural structural design in civil engineering is demanding for a growing requirement of efficient and high-quality structures. Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology is progressively replacing traditional two-dimensional design approaches by facilitating visualization, collaboration, and intelligent design through integrated digital models. BIM modeling courses are now offered in major universities’architectural engineering programs, but they are lack of being integrated with practical coursework and design teaching, which results in many students acquiring modeling skills but being short of practical experience to apply them to structural design. To enhance students’abilities in three-dimensional visualization modeling and collaborative design of construction structures, BIM technology is used in architectural structural design. This optimization of the teaching process aligns the content more closely with the development of structural design informationization and the evolving of discipline.
