Abstract: Nowadays, the integration of government, industry, academia, and research has become an important breakthrough in achieving collaborative innovation and innovative talent cultivation. However, there are still many shortcomings in the talent cultivation models of various universities, which are difficult to meet the talent needs of various industries. Taking the transportation engineering major as an example, this article explores a new model of innovative talent cultivation under the background of the integration of government, industry, academia, and research. It aims to promote cross-border integration, mutual support, and cooperation among various training subjects, which will help achieve the construction goals of the transportation engineering major. A specific strategy for collaborative education in the field of transportation engineering should be developed, which includes interdisciplinary and composite training, as well as a multi subject training model that combines internal and external factors.
