Abstract: The development of new digital economy formats poses higher requirements for talent cultivation in applied undergraduate institutions. As an important approach to cultivating composite talents, specialty-innovation integration faces practical challenges in ideological cognition, faculty structure, curriculum system, and practice platforms. Through establishing training mechanisms for specialty-innovation integration concepts, constructing dual-qualified faculty development systems, developing modular specialty-innovation integration curricula, and building university-enterprise collaborative practice education platforms, these innovative practice paths can effectively address the challenges facing specialty-innovation integration. Practice demonstrates that the innovation of specialty-innovation integration models empowered by digital technology provides effective solutions for applied undergraduate institutions to cultivate composite talents for the digital economy, and significantly promotes the overall improvement of talent cultivation quality.
