Abstract: Under the dual drive of educational innovation and technological development in the new era, science and education has become an important direction for teaching reform in universities. This paper takes the photonic integrated circuit technology course as an example to explore the application of case-based teaching under the concept of science and education integration, addressing issues such as the disconnection between theory and practice, outdated content, and monotonous teaching methods. By introducing cutting-edge research achievements and real engineering cases, building a case database, and implementing a teaching model combining problem-oriented learning, group discussions, and teacher guidance, along with project-oriented research training, the approach aims to enhance students'enthusiasm for learning, practical skills, and awareness of scientific research and innovation. Practical results show that this model effectively enhances students'understanding and application of professional knowledge, promotes the deep integration of theory and practice, and provides a feasible path and valuable reference for cultivating high-quality engineering and technological talents.
