Abstract: This article focuses on the issue of cultivating students'scientific and technological innovation ability under the background of “general enrollment and professional diversion”. By analyzing the current situation of students'scientific and technological innovation ability under the background of “general enrollment and professional diversion” in the School of Mechanical Engineering of a certain university, it proposes to carry out the cultivation of students'scientific and technological innovation ability in four aspects: cultivating students'innovation awareness, enriching diversion methods, strengthening process management, and leveraging the power of peer; In practice, a set of “double improvement, three unchanged, four strengthened, and five exerted” system for cultivating students'scientific and technological innovation ability has been condensed and summarized, which has certain reference significance for the cultivating students'scientific and technological innovation ability.
