Abstract: In the modern education system, innovation and practice of teaching methods have always been the key to improving students'learning outcomes. The purpose of this article is to explore the application effects of action oriented teaching method and APOS theory in practical teaching. By comparing and analyzing this teaching mode with traditional teaching methods in teaching practice, the impact of it on student performance is deeply studied. Based on the distribution of grades and the ratio of high and low segments between two groups of students, the effectiveness of action oriented teaching method and APOS theory in improving student learning outcomes is evaluated.

Key words: Action oriented teaching method, APOS theory, Probability theory and mathematical statistics, Teaching practice, Teaching mode, Learning effect
