Abstract: Local universities have made beneficial explorations in cultivating innovative and applied talents, but they also face some difficulties, including insufficient independent innovation drive, mismatch between talent cultivation structure and development, unclear disciplinary and professional characteristics, and weak applied teaching staff. Strengthening the cultivation of innovative applied talents should start from the following aspects: adhering to the concept of“demand-oriented, integrating internal and external factors, strengthening application, and highlighting innovation”, combining professional education with entrepreneurship education, driven by technological innovation and industrial demand, innovating and practicing in various aspects such as curriculum teaching, scientific research, practical internships, and social services, and achieving students'comprehensive development.
