Abstract: The integration of specialization and innovation is the inevitable path for vocational education to serve the national innovation driven development strategy, playing an important role in driving socio-economic development and deepening the integration of industry and education. However, at present, there are still problems with the integration of vocational education and innovation, such as disciplinary training models, shallow cooperation between schools and enterprises, and the form of “double innovation” education. This study is based on the development process and obstacles of the “integration of specialization and innovation” in vocational colleges. It explores the “integration of specialization and innovation” path in the architectural decoration major of vocational colleges from three aspects: deepening the “three education” reform, building a diversified platform, and cultivating a “double innovation” culture. It proposes a paradigm of “integration of specialization and innovation” that is in line with the typification development of vocational colleges in the new era.
