Abstract: Biochemistry is the core course of majors such as biology and agriculture. The knowledge system of biochemistry course is vast, with extensive content and wide coverage. Traditional teaching methods are difficult to stimulate students'initiative in independent learning. This article analyzes the shortcomings of traditional teaching and the advantages of case teaching in the teaching process of biochemistry, and proposes specific operational methods from three aspects: the implementation process, evaluation, and precautions of case teaching, first, prepare teaching cases closely related to the course content, second, implement teaching cases in the classroom, and finally summarize, evaluate, and pay attention to the implementation effect of case teaching. Incorporating case studies into teaching can further enhance students’ motivation for self-directed learning and elevate the quality of biochemistry course instruction.
