Research on Instructional Design of Chinese Materia Medica-Related Course Based on OBE Concept

Abstract: This study aims to explore the application of outcome-based education (OBE) philosophy to Chinese materia medica-related course teaching reforms. Chinese materia medica-related courses, focused on the goal of“quality of traditional Chinese medicine”and guided by learning outcomes, using reverse teaching design of“citing cases, analyzing phenomena, effectively bridging knowledge points, summarizing knowledge objectives, extending cases and achieving competency goals”by many teaching methods like case teaching and heuristic teaching, cultivate students'self-directed learning ability. The practice shows that the instructional design and teaching assessment based on OBE concept could cultivate students'comprehensive abilities of “knowledge, skills and quality”to the maximum.
