Development and Practice of Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching System for Digital Subtraction Angiography

Abstract: Due to the radiation hazards of X-rays and the need for contrast agent injections during the imaging process, it is difficult to demonstrate and practice in DSA teaching. The principle and imaging process that are difficult to be shown in traditional experiments are presented through a virtual way based on the physical principle of the digital subtraction angiography and the real-time operation and high simulation technology of mathematical models in the developed virtual simulation experiment for the digital subtraction angiography. Student can understand and master principles of the digital subtraction angiography more easily through the multi-dimensional learning and interaction. The teaching practice shows that the digital subtraction angiography virtual simulation experiment applied to assisting the theoretical teaching of medical imaging principles can break through the limitations of traditional experimental teaching, greatly improve students'interest in learning, increase the safety of experimental operation, and save time and cost. This virtual simulation experimental system helps to improve students' innovative and practical abilities, and provides strong support for cultivating compound talents of the medical science and engineering.
