Exploration on the Construction Path of First-Class Discipline of Food Science and Engineering in Local Universities

Abstract: Discipline construction is the key and core of the development of universities. First-class universities and disciplines of the world(namely “double first-class” ) is important measures to enhance comprehensive strength of higher education in our country, bringing opportunities for the development of local universities. This article elaborates on the current situation of the construction of the discipline of food science and engineering, analyzes the problems existing in the discipline construction of local universities, and comprehensively explores the path to build a first-class discipline of food science and engineering from the perspectives of discipline positioning, faculty strength, talent cultivation, scientific research, achievement transformation, cultural inheritance, etc.
