Practice and Reflection on the Construction of a First-Class Undergraduate Major in Public Utility Management from the Perspective of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Abstract: This article is based on the opportunity of constructing first-class undergraduate majors, combined with the new opportunities and requirements of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents in higher education institutions, and systematically explores how to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors in public utility management, constructing a first-class undergraduate major construction mode and path that conforms to the educational purpose and educational characteristics of public utility management majors. This article starts with the concept and connotation of innovation and entrepreneurship and public utility management, and explains the background and significance of the construction of a first-class undergraduate program in public utility management guided by innovation and entrepreneurship. Based on this, it sorts out and summarizes its existing problems, thereby condensing the ideas and practices of the first-class undergraduate program in public utility management at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in innovation and entrepreneurship practice, with the aim of providing high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship education provide new ideas for sustainable promotion of the construction of first-class undergraduate majors in public utility management.
