Abstract: Rock mechanics and engineering is the main course of the urban underground space engineering specialty of Changzhou Institute of Technology, which has the characteristics of interdisciplinary, rapid knowledge change, and strong practicality. There are problems with the single teaching and examination mode, lack of experimental teaching links, and detachment from engineering practice in the teaching of this course in local applied universities. Based on this, this paper proposed and adopted some reform measures, including enriching curriculum teaching methods, introducing numerical simulation experiments, strengthening the integration of industry, teaching and research, and strengthening process assessment. The effectiveness of educational reform was summarized and evaluated. It is a useful reference for similar curriculum teaching.
