Abstract: College physics experiments are a compulsory basic course for students in science and engineering universities, which can cultivate their scientific research literacy and abilities in scientific experiments. However, the existing university physics teaching models are all based on existing instruments and equipment to obtain experimental data. Students calculate experimental results by processing the measured data. This training model has a certain effect on the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of college students, but it cannot fully utilize the role of university physics experimental courses. Here, taking the self-made contact angle measuring instrument as an example, this article analyzes the role of self-made instruments in cultivating college students' innovation and entrepreneurship abilities through the process of student data collection, model establishment, equipment construction, data collection, and model correction.
