Abstract: For a long time, college English teaching has focused on English knowledge and skills, but ignored the cultivation of students' English application ability, English thinking, English culture, innovation and creativity. In recent years, with the transformation of college education to practice and application, English teaching also needs innovation and transformation. In this paper, the brief analysis of the applied talents cultivation, optimization of college English teaching from the perspective to study the current situation of college English teaching, and focusing on changing the concept of teaching to adapt to The Times change, adopt efficient innovative English teaching mode, optimize the curriculum based on talent training target, strengthen the construction of English teachers, etc., This paper discusses the feasible strategies to strengthen the training of applied talents in English teaching.
