Abstract: Engineering geology is a compulsory specialized core course for students major in Civil Engineering to investigate the relationship between the human engineering activity and geological environment. In view of the typical characteristic of engineering geology with many contents, concepts and strong practice, the PBL teaching method was adopted to raise a series of study questions during the teaching by taking the landslide as example, which is one of adverse geological phenomena. Furthermore, homework and in-situ practice was assigned to enhance the comprehensive abilities and realize the digest of knowledge of students. The developed teaching idea and content can provide a reference for the course associated with engineering geology.
