Cultivation of GIS Talents' Ecological Environment Literacy in Applied Universities

Abstract: Based on the current situation of cultivating applied talents' ecological and environmental literacy in GIS major and the pain points in the cultivation process of "theory-practice-application", this paper explores and practices teaching, and designs three modules centering on "basic theory, implementation and cultivation effect" of GIS environmental literacy. To build a multi-dimensional GIS environmental literacy cultivation and implementation system of "classroom theoretical teaching, after-class skill practice and extracurricular innovation competition". The results show that the cultivation of GIS professionals can improve their ecological and environmental literacy, stimulate students' interest in learning, improve the teaching effect of the course, improve students' comprehensive literacy and enhance their social service ability, and better fit the cultivation needs of GIS application-oriented talents.
