A Study of the Status Quo and Influencing Factors of Medical Interns’ Post Competency

Abstract: Objectives This paper was aimed to discuss the status quo and influencing factors of medical interns’ post competency. MethodsAn online survey of 852 students in a medical university in Guizhou was carried out on the platform of “wjx.cn” with a self-compiled background questionnaire and the Chinese doctors’ common competency model questionnaire, and a test of difference and a regression analysis were conducted with the software SPSS22.0. Results(1) The most important factors for medical interns’ post competency are core values and professionalism of doctors; (2) Medical interns’ post competency is significantly different in factors such as gender, majors, class types, and single parent families (P<0.05 or P<0.001). ConclusionsMedical interns’ post competency is generally in good condition, but there are still problems, which can be settled by cultivating their professionalism to improve their post competency.
