Abstract: Under the background of the continuous promotion of national education reform, piano education has become an important part of music education in China. However, with the continuous in-depth development of piano education, the contradiction between the concept of piano education and social needs began to intensify gradually, resulting in many new problems to be solved. This paper focuses on analyzing the disadvantages in the process of education and teaching in art colleges and universities, and combined with the specific experience of piano teaching in art colleges and universities, this paper discusses the new path of piano teaching reform from many aspects, such as the reform orientation of the form and content of piano teaching, the support of offline and online equipment of piano teaching, the creation of opportunities for piano teaching practice and performance, and increasing students' awareness of cooperation and innovation. Finally, starting with the new ideas and social needs of piano teaching, this paper explores new methods, new models and new ideas of piano teaching, in order to promote the reform and improvement of talent training system in colleges and universities and make it keep up with the pace of the times and the world.
