Abstract: In the face of demand on the applied chemical talents, in order to improve the quality of personnel cultivation, the applied chemistry major of the university of northeast petroleum university, a national first-class undergraduate specialty construction site, build and implemented the CO₂ type （Oil Recovery←Chemistry→Oil Refinery）in the application of chemical professional talents training system, which was designed with promoting the university's connotation and characteristics of development, and provide the guarantee for the high level talents of oil mining and oil intensive processing. This paper mainly introduced the construction exploration and practice of the applied chemistry major of the university of northeast petroleum university in recent years, from six aspects: the design of ideological and political education, the optimization of training scheme, the construction of teaching staff and the construction of teaching resources and provides some reference for the relevant professional construction of local colleges and universities that serve some a particular industry.
