Action Research on Developing Students’ Multiliteracies in English Reading Teaching

Abstract: From the perspective of multimodal discourse analysis, based on the multiliteracies pedagogy, this paper discusses the student-centered teaching from the perspective of presenting teaching objectives, defining learning methods and processes, organizing the content, and designing the operable assessment through action research. It aims to build the curriculum framework, assign learning tasks, conduct learning evaluation, and form a relatively complete “curriculum circle” The four elements─situated practice,overt instruction,critical framing,transformed practice are applied to devise and implement the teaching design, and construct students’ in-depth knowledge system.
