Abstract: In the new period, the nursing work mode also changes along with the whole medical mode to the whole population's health. The nursing research teaching mode based on the cultivation of epidemiological thinking ability through the theory of teaching and practical research, which can help students solve practical scientific problems. In the theory teaching, we can simplify the content of theoretical teaching in the classroom, through interesting online learning content beyond classroom teaching. Moreover, we can use flipped classroom and other teaching methods to promote the subjective initiative and make the epidemiological thinking model imperceptible among students. In the research practice teaching, the student team is the main body, which tutored by a teacher team based on PBL teaching pattern. For a scientific problem, we let students experience the scientific research process completely, and further develop their epidemiological thinking ability in this process. Nursing research-based teaching model based on epidemiological thinking can help nursing students to establish ‘population’ and ‘prevention’ thinking in the early stage.
