Abstract: High skilled application-oriented talents need good professional training and effectively combine theoretical knowledge with project practice to ensure that they can meet the needs of enterprise development in their future career. What the society needs is applied innovative talents. The innovative ability is not born, but is gradually cultivated through learning and practice. CDIO represents concept, design, implementation and operation. It is the embodiment of "learning by doing" and "project-based education and learning". CDIO takes the specific project development process of enterprises as its main business. By strengthening the technical practice teaching of the major, CDIO cultivates students' ability from the four aspects of theoretical knowledge, personal consciousness, team cooperation and engineering practice, emphasizes students' active participation, and truly realizes student-centered education and learning. This paper expounds how to use CDIO concept to stimulate students' learning initiative in the course of tour guide business.
