Development and Implementation of Specialized Course of Traffic Management and Control based on Outcome-based Education Idea

Abstract: Accreditation of engineering education is the student-centered and outcome-based education system. In order to meet the requirement of accreditation of engineering education, based on the outcome-based education idea, we proposed the curriculum goal and required abilities of students for Traffic Management and Control course. After that, according to the curriculum objective, we put forward the teaching content and evaluation mode of the course. Finally, we studied the teaching method and evaluation implementation pattern for the course, and took one grade of students majoring in traffic engineering as an example, which shows that the degree of completion of the second curriculum objective still has some shortage and there is the demand for reinforcement in teaching contents of traffic control. Development and implementation method for specialized course of Traffic Management and Control based on outcome-based education idea is beneficial for finding problems with the curriculum design, and provide the theoretical foundation for the curriculum reform and education improvement.
