Abstract: Objective:To explore whether there are differences in depression among high school students of different economic development cities and different genders. Methods:A total of 553 high school students from Chengdu and Leshan were collected to answer the questions, including 295 high school students from Chengdu and 258 high school students from Leshan. CES-D was used to investigate the depression. Results:The scores of CES-D were significantly different in different regions(t=5. 66, P < 0.01). The scores of Chengdu (13.43±9.512) were lower than those of Leshan (18.93±11.792), and the scores of Chengdu and Leshan were significantly different in every dimension. There was no significant gender difference in depression (t=-1.680, P<0.01). The score of male students was (12.33±9.447) and that of female students was (11.34±9.504).
