Abstract: At present, there is a serious utilitarian tendency in the value orientation of students' professional skills competition in higher vocational colleges. As an important part of talent education, higher vocational colleges, in order to improve students' professional skills, face all students and improve the quality of talent education, overemphasize the impact of participating in the competition and the results of the competition to expand the popularity of the school. The college establishes a project system based on the content of skill competition, and realizes the cultivation of students' professional core skills through the full coverage of school level competition students. This paper reflects on the utilitarian value orientation of Vocational College Students' vocational skills competition, and analyzes the value orientation of Vocational College Students' vocational skills competition.
