Abstract: This paper explores the current situation of the construction of "new engineering" in local application-oriented undergraduate universities and summarizes some problems in the training and development of engineering talents in local colleges which do not meet the needs of local economic development. According to the innovative ideas and ideas of engineering education reform, Taking the Internet of Things Engineering major of Baoding University as an example, from the curriculum ideological and political construction, discipline system construction, personnel training objectives, personnel training mode, training methods and school-enterprise cooperation and other practical innovation achievements are expounded.
