Abstract: The laboratory plays an important role in cultivating students'innovative spirit and practical ability. Many universities in China have established hotel management major laboratories, which have trained a large number of professional talents for the hotel industry. The article elaborates on the role and significance of building hotel management major laboratories in universities from the perspectives of disciplinary development and professional construction, and analyzes some problems in the current construction of hotel management major laboratories in universities. In response to the problem, it is recommended to deepen understanding and establish a scientific and systematic laboratory; Increase investment and continuously enrich the functions and uses of the laboratory; Keeping up with the times and comprehensively cultivating high-quality talents in hotel management; Timely opening and effectively improving the efficiency of laboratory use; Standardize management and vigorously cultivate laboratory professionals; Co-construction and sharing, focusing on enhancing laboratory research and social service capabilities.
