Abstract: CDIO concept is a new teaching concept, which can play a certain teaching effect when applied to the innovation and entrepreneurship education mode of students in private colleges and universities, and play an important role in guiding the formation of students' innovation and entrepreneurship consciousness. In this regard, this paper studies the concept and basic role of CDIO, and proposes the optimization strategy of CDIO concept by analyzing the current situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education of students in private colleges and universities. Through the "C" conception stage combined with the form of micro-class production, help students learn to summarize knowledge points and consolidate the study of theoretical knowledge; In the "D" stage, students are consciously guided to conceive the preliminary design of the product by combining their professional knowledge. Then, through the "I, O" link, let students turn the conceived products into actual works, and cooperate with enterprises, truly help students form the thinking of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and promote the improvement of students' innovation ability.
