Abstract: At present, English teaching occupies a large proportion in the talent cultivation system of higher education in China. Basic English, as an important course for improving students' English reading ability and English expression ability, is of key significance to the improvement of the overall teaching level of colleges and universities. The application degree of online teaching platform in practical teaching is constantly improving, which together with offline teaching forms a set of perfect English teaching system. In view of the above aspects, this study fully considers the new changes brought about by "Internet +" to college English teaching. By analyzing the main content and significance of the online platform construction of Basic English course in colleges and universities from the perspective of "Internet +", it comprehensively explores the specific strategies of online platform construction, providing good reference for the promotion of college English teaching.
