Abstract: Generative AI is reshaping the communication ecosystem, driving the transformation of communication teaching toward cultivating practical capabilities in intelligent communication. This paper analyzes the structural challenges and unique strategic opportunities faced by university faculty in mastering generative AI, using communication courses as an entry point. It proposes that innovation in communication pedagogy should follow a three-tiered system approach involving“individual-institution-policy”coordination: At the macro level, higher education institutions should establish support systems integrating intelligent media training platforms with scenario-based training; At the macro level, policies must strengthen top-level design to cultivate an ecological environment conducive to AI-driven innovation in communication education. The study concludes that systematically integrating AI into communication pedagogy offers a replicable paradigm for the digital transformation of humanities curricula.
