Abstract: Under the background of national ecological civilization construction, interdisciplinary integration and the increasing demand for environmental protection talents in Guizhou Province, this paper takes Guiyang Information Technology College as the research object. Through conducting questionnaire surveys and on-site interviews with 376 graduates majoring in environmental engineering of the 2017-2021 grades of the college and more than 30 environmental protection companies inside and outside the province, the employment difficulties are analyzed. The results show that 52.85% of the graduates are engaged in work related to their major, with positions mainly concentrated in environmental monitoring and pollution prevention and control. However, they lack practical skills and on-site problem-solving abilities. 72.22% of enterprises need environmental protection talents. Enterprises place more emphasis on individual ability and professional knowledge, especially the ability to integrate disciplines. The main difficulties in employment are the disconnect, between the curriculum design and social demands, the insufficiency of students'comprehensive abilities, and the lack of career planning. Based on this, countermeasures such as optimizing the curriculum system, enhancing students'comprehensive abilities, and improving career planning are proposed, providing a reference for the revision of the training program of this major in this school.
