Research on the Difficulties and Countermeasures of Bilingual Teaching in Application-oriented Universities——Taking International Economy and Trade Major, Panzhihua University as an Example

Abstract: With the further advancement of the “Belt and Road” initiative, China’s degree of opening up has been continuing to increase. Bilingual teaching of traditionally advantageous majors has not only improved the inherent requirements for talent training, but also has become an important way for the transformation and development of local universities. From the perspective of social needs, this paper expounds the necessity of bilingual teaching in application-oriented university, analyzes a series of difficulties faced by bilingual curriculum practice from the aspects of teachers, teaching material system, student learning, and curriculum management. Based on those difficulties, solutions such as reasonable introduction of talents, accurate positioning of teaching materials, special training, and optimization of management models are proposed in the end of this paper.
