Abstract: As the bases for the output of innovative talents, universities undertake the important responsibilities of universities cultivating reliable builders and successors of socialism. At present, there are problems of insufficient connection and overlap in the definition of relationships and goal positioning between undergraduate and graduate students, which hinders the improvement of the talent cultivation function of universities. This article is guided by the theory of peer education and starts from the perspective of“linkage between research and undergraduate education”. By explaining the requirements of the country for the cultivation of innovative talents in universities, the concept and necessity of“linkage between research and undergraduate education”are analyzed, and targeted implementation principles and paths for talent cultivation strategies in universities under the“linkage between research and undergraduate education”model are proposed.
