From Single Evaluation to Multiple Evaluation: Transformation and Optimization of Professional English Teaching Mode—Taking the Water Supply and Drainage Major at Nanjing Tech University as an Example

Abstract: With the acceleration of globalization and the development of engineering technology, industries and enterprises have put forward higher requirements for engineering talents. In recent years, the proportion of engineering students taking the postgraduate entrance examination has increased, and there is a higher demand for English proficiency at the graduate level. At the same time, professional English is also crucial for graduate research, academic exchanges, and employment. However, there are still some problems in the current teaching of professional English in universities, leading to weaker language application abilities of students. Therefore, this article aims to promote the transformation of professional English teaching towards ability development by introducing a diversified evaluation system, optimizing teaching modes, comprehensively examining students'comprehensive abilities, enhancing students'professional English application ability, academic research and employment ability.
