Abstract: ObjectiveThis study aims to design a teaching program for a major course in hepatobiliary surgery that integrates Bloom's goal teaching method with the case study teaching method, while also exploring the value of its application. MethodsStudents were organized into different groups based on their classes. The experimental group implemented the integrated teaching mode of Bloom's goal teaching method and the case study teaching method, whereas the control group followed the conventional teaching method. The teaching outcomes were evaluated through written tests and questionnaires. ResultsIn terms of theoretical knowledge assessment, the mean score of the experimental group surpassed that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Furthermore, in the questionnaire feedback on stimulating the interest in learning, deepening professional knowledge, enhancing self-learning ability, and improving clinical thinking skills, the experimental group demonstrated a higher level of satisfaction compared to the control group, with the differences being statistically significant (P<0.05). ConclusionThe integration of Bloom's educational objectives with case studies in the theoretical teaching process of hepatobiliary surgery has significant advantages than the traditional teaching program.
