Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore how to build an effective blended teaching mode according to the school's positioning as an application-oriented institution, combined with the cultivation goal of comprehensive and application-oriented talents in communication engineering. Through the independent construction of 55 microclasses and 20 virtual simulation tasks, we have studied and practiced the application of the three-phase blended teaching mode of“pre-course preparation, online theoretical learning, and offline simulation and reinforcement”in the computer communication network course. The results of the study show that this teaching mode can significantly improve students'learning motivation and thus enhance the teaching effect of the course. At the same time, students'practical ability is effectively strengthened in the course learning process, laying a solid foundation for their future career development. Therefore, the adoption of this hybrid teaching mode is of great significance for the cultivation of applied talents in communication engineering and provides a feasible solution for the curriculum reform of applied colleges and universities.
