Abstract: Under the background of new engineering construction, quantum chemistry calculation method is the basis of material calculation simulation and new material development. But, the quantum chemistry theory course is very complicated, which often makes students lose interest in study. To solve this problem, the course of computational methods in quantum chemistry is taken as an example. Based on the outcomes-based education teaching concept, blended teaching mode of“theory-case-practice”and diversified teaching evaluation methods are applied to enhance students'sense of gain by emphasizing their learning outcomes. Combining theory teaching and computer operation, this course can cultivate the computational thinking and practical ability of students. The above explorations can provide reference for the cultivation of high-level innovative new engineering talents.
