Teaching Reform of Landscape Ecology Course for Soil and Water Conservation Specialty Based on Regional Characteristics

Abstract: Landscape ecology is an important basic course of soil and water conservation and desertification control, which is highly comprehensive and practical. Aiming at the major of soil and water conservation and desertification control in Southwest University, the teaching of landscape ecology is closely integrated with regional and professional characteristics, and a variety of measures are adopted to stimulate students'learning enthusiasm and improve the teaching quality. First, the course content is optimized to make it more in line with the professional knowledge system and actual needs. Second, the teaching method has been improved, and various methods such as problem-oriented teaching, multimedia demonstration, case teaching and hot issue discussion have been adopted to enliven the classroom atmosphere. At the same time, appropriate practical cases are selected so that students can apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned to practical situations. Finally, the assessment method is improved, and the assessment is dispersed to the whole course learning process to comprehensively evaluate the students'learning results. In addition, through the way of promoting learning through competition, the practical ability of students has been significantly improved. By participating in various competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship plans and other activities, students apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned in practical projects for cultuving their scientific research thinking and practical skills.
