Abstract: In recent years, the training of high-level innovative and international graduate students has been an important trend in the development of higher education in the era of economic globalization. However, there are still certain issues with the internationalization of postgraduate education in China's colleges and universities. Relying on the discipline of safety science and engineering, the School of Safety Engineering of China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) has conducted an in-depth study on the path of enhancement around the cultivation mode of high-level innovative and international graduates, the formulation of competence cultivation objectives, the construction of innovative competence cultivation and cooperation and mutual help practice platform, the optimisation of innovative curriculum construction system, and the construction of internationalised faculty based on “double first-class”disciplines. This provides an important reference for other domestic universities to cultivate high-level innovative and international graduate students.
