Abstract: Reverse engineering and 3D printing technology is widely used in aviation, automobile, medical and other fields, the combination of the two is the main way of product innovative design and rapid prototyping manufacturing. Therefore, the courses of reverse engineering and additive manufacturing technology have strong engineering practice background. In a narrow sense, additive manufacturing mainly refers to 3D printing technology. This course is generally offered in mechanical majors, and has high requirements for teachers'knowledge reserves, teaching methods and practical teaching. After four years of teaching exploration and practice, the research group has proposed that the basic course of reverse engineering and additive manufacturing should focus on cultivating students'engineering application foundation, and should focus on training methods and skills rather than teaching deep principles, practical teaching should strengthen the cultivation of students'complete product innovation ability.
