Practice and Connotation of the “Golden Course” Construction of Bridge Engineering Course Design

Abstract: Bridge engineering course design is an important foundational course for students majoring in bridge engineering. The teaching innovation and practice of this course in the construction process of the“golden course”are explored, and the connotation of“golden course”is elaborated. In response to the problem faced by the course in the construction of the “golden course”, the reform and practice have been carried out in teaching content, teaching form, and assessment methods using the standard of“high-order, innovation, challenge properties”. The connotation of the“golden course”includes emphasizing knowledge coherence, systematicness and integrity, selecting typical cases that are contemporary and close to engineering practice, emphasizing the use of computers to improve design efficiency, refining the thinking of solving design problems based on standards, exercising students'abilities through typical cases, and encouraging the dialogue and critical aspects of the teaching process. Through the above teaching practice, the goal of constructing the bridge engineering course design“golden course”has been achieved.
