Research on the Reform and Innovation of Public Building Design Principles Curriculum Based on Problem Orientation

Abstract: The course of principles of public building design is the core course of undergraduate architecture majors and plays an important role in the cultivation of students majoring in architecture. However, there are many problems in traditional teaching, such as emphasizing theory over practice, emphasizing on class over class, and emphasizing results over processes. In the context of new engineering, with the teaching philosophy of“student-centered”, the course of principles of public building design aims to solve problems in teaching, and reforms and improvements have been made in four aspects: teaching philosophy, teaching content, teaching methods, and teaching evaluation, achieving good results and improving the quality of talent cultivation in the field of architecture.
