Degree of Undergraduate Scientific Research Participation in Local Universities and Its Impact on Career Planning——A Questionnaire Survey Based on South China A University

Abstract: Research training is an important way to cultivate undergraduate students with comprehensive and innovative abilities. This article focuses on undergraduate students from A University, a local university in South China, and uses a questionnaire survey method to analyze the basic situation of undergraduate students' participation in scientific research and its impact on career planning. It identifies key factors that promote and hinder undergraduate students'scientific research. The study shows: the proportion of undergraduate students participating in scientific research is relatively high, but cooperative participation in an assistant role is the main mode; The main factor that restricts undergraduate students'participation in scientific research is the lack of perception channels for participation; Participation in scientific research experiences has an important influence on career planning direction, increases the willingness of students to take postgraduate entrance exams. Universities should strengthen the popularization and academic guidance of undergraduate students' scientific research, enrich students'perception channels for participating in scientific research, and enhance the output quantity, level of undergraduate students in scientific research achievements.
