Abstract: As an effective carrier for training innovative and entrepreneurial talents in universities and a platform for interdisciplinary integration and sharing, maker space is of great value to further carry out the research of maker space in universities and cultivate new technical talents with innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities and cross-border integration capabilities. This paper combs the existing research results of domestic and foreign universities, and analyzes the typical case characteristics of six domestic and foreign universities by means of literature survey and network survey, and summarizes the domestic and foreign research results on the function, design concept, technical support, organizational structure and other aspects of maker space. The research results shows that: Domestic universities pay attention to the maker space site and equipment investment in hardware infrastructure in the maker space construction process, and there are still shortcomings in the management mechanism, openness, security and sharing flexible mechanism. Finally, according to the basic situation of the maker space construction in our country, some suggestions for improvement are put forward. The author hopes that the research results can provide some useful reference for the development of Chinese university library's maker space.
