Mixed Teaching Exploration of Course Paleontology under the Background of Post Epidemic Era

Abstract: During the COVID-19, mixed online and offline teaching have been applied to many courses. Paleontology, which is one of the core courses of geology, has quite complicate content. The mixed teaching mode makes it much harder for teacher to teach and for student to learn. The present paper concludes the main problems in teaching paleontology, and suggests that we can help student understand the obscure knowledge by using multiple teaching methods. In addition, student's learning interest and initiative can be improved by the learning the logicality of paleontology. Finally, the course content can be adjusted for students from different majors and students with different learning interests.
