Abstract: Under the background of building a powerful country in higher education, the teaching mode of colleges and universities is developing towards "information and intelligence". It is very important to combine the connotation and content of experimental teaching, integrating the advantageous resources of experimental teaching, optimizing experimental teaching methods and means, scientifically constructing virtual simulation experimental teaching platform and improving the effectiveness of experimental teaching. However, due to the limitation of technology, most of the current virtual simulation experiment teaching projects are mainly confirmative and experiential, and lack of depth in the design of exploratory and comprehensive experimental situation creation, multiple complex paths and possible results presupposition, and stimulating students ' innovative thinking in the experimental process. In addition, there are also problems such as shallow interactivity and intelligence. In order to give full play to the advantages of virtual simulation experiment teaching, this paper introduces the methods to improve the teaching effect of virtual simulation experiment from many aspects, in order to provide reference for improving the teaching effect of virtual simulation experiment in colleges and universities.
