Abstract: With the rapid development of the Belt and Road construction, the demand for compound and applied Russian talents in Guangxi has increased sharply. In order to meet the new needs of regional economic and social development, Guangxi University of Science and Technology has seized the historical opportunity and opened the Russian major, filling the gap in the training of Russian talents in colleges and universities. For adapting to the trade development with Russia and countries of Central Asian the Russian teaching should be adjusted. Based on the current situation in Guangxi the author proposes the countermeasures in such aspects as the small class teaching, formation of an application-oriented teachers group and innovative teaching models to cultivate compound applied talents who are proficient in Russian, familiar with international trade and law.
